This year's HFOSS Summer Institute started May 27, 2008. Our 13 interns are working on a variety of Projects, all with unique humanitarian goals.
The Humanitarian FOSS Project is a research effort aimed at testing the hypothesis that humanitarian free and open source software development, done within the context of a real-world problem-solving environment, can help revitalize undergraduate computing education.
Humanitarian FOSS
Humanitarian Free Open-Source Software (HFOSS) is the application of free software principles to help humanitarian causes.

- Aug 1, 2008: The Humanitarian FOSS Project concludes a successful 10 week summer institute.
- May 20, 2008: The Trinity Sahana team's Volunteer Management module is being deployed to coordinate relief efforts for the Sichuan province earthquake in China. An account is available on the HFOSS blog.
